Resistance Welding - ESD Test

The ESD test for resistance welding equipment refers to the electrostatic discharge immunity test for resistance welding equipment. Its core purpose is to verify whether the control system, power modules and welding accuracy of resistance welding equipment (such as spot welding, seam welding and projection welding) remain unaffected when exposed to electrostatic discharge interference in industrial environments.

This test prevents welding parameter drift, false triggering, system shutdown and even component damage caused by static electricity, so as to ensure the stability of the welding process and consistent product quality.

Resistance welding equipment is widely used in industrial scenarios such as automobile manufacturing, home appliance sheet metal fabrication, and hardware processing. Static electricity tends to accumulate in workshops due to dry conditions, friction during the handling of metal workpieces, and human operation. Therefore, ESD testing is a key item in its electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) certification.
